Sports Club

As the saying goes this club is dedicated to all the Carmelite students who have bought laurels to us in the field of sports. With the true determination to achieve the best the college team has been participating in all the sports meet in and around the college and bringing glory to college.

The main objective of the sports club is to provide an opportunity for all students to take part in football, cricket, volley ball, badminton etc. The college teams take part in inter collegiate competitions but the other students can have a platform to demonstrate their talents through this club.

REPORT (2018- 2019)

Sports and athletics have been an integral part of Mount Carmel College for years. Sports in themselves are an indispensible part of study. College life without sports would be dull and dreary.


In the beginning of the academic year we selected the football and cricket to select college teams. Under the guidance of our coach Amal Gopalan we selected the football and cricket team to participate competition.


Our football and cricket team participated and competed well in the tournaments at Newman College and Nirmala College. The football team participated in the Reliance cup football tournament and also in the tournament conducted in the Marian College and fared well. And also competed in various tournaments conducted by different colleges and clubs.


Sports day is a day of honouring and awarding the talented students who are participating in sports inside the campus. The college sports day, Vegam 2K18 was celebrated on 20 December 2018. The legend in the football commentary Sri. Shaiju Damodaran was the chief guest. The event began with the March past performed by the students. It was followed by a flag hosting ceremony. Sri. Shaiju Damodaran accepted the March past honors.


The notable events of the days were race, relay, shot put and discus throw. Both girls and boys competed and played well in the events.


Different group items like volleyball, football, and cricket were also conducted as part of the sports day for boys and throw ball was conducted for girls. English Department was the champion in the volleyball; B.Com Tax was the champion in football, B.Com Tax was the champion in cricket and B.Com Tax was the champion throw ball.
