Jesus Youth

Jesus youth is a catholic youth movement with a charismatic spirituality. The strength of the movement is its special focus on a Jesus – centered life , starting with a God experience , growing through prayer, the word of God , the sacraments and fellowship and bearing fruit in a life style of sharing the good news of Jesus with others . Jesus youth is a wide network of small but strong fellowship groups of youth from different catholic rites. Jesus youth strive to set apart time for the lord, answering the challenges of today’s world in the power of the sprit. The movement invites its youth to follow a lifestyle based on the life of Jesus Christ to become the light of the world. The strength of the movement is its special focus on a life centered on the Lord Jesus Christ: beginning with an experience of God nourished by prayer, the Word of God, the sacraments and fellowship, and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with others to become enlightened youth.



With the initiative of the core members of Jesus Youth, ‘Arise 2K17’, a one day program for 1st year students was conducted in the College Auditorium. The first session was preceded by Biju Cyriac, International Coordinator of Jesus Youth. It was followed by Adoration, games and music.

Five Jesus Youth members participated in the core team training program conducted in the Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha.


An out-reach program was organized by the Jesus Youth team in Pratheeksha Bhavan, Nellimattom which is an institute which aims at education and rehabilitation of individuals with Mental Retardation and associated conditions. The students performed certain cultural programs for the inmates. The inmates were also made to participate in the games and activities.


Representatives of Jesus Youth were a part of ‘Serah’, a women initiative program conducted at Nirmala College.


A splendid Flash Mob was performed by Mount Carmel College Jesus Youth wing is association with Pratheeksha Rehabilitation Centre, Nellimattom on World Mental Health Day at Kothamangalam bus stand. Three other colleges were also took part in this.


With pomp and splendor ‘Advent 2K17’ was held at the College Auditorium. The Christmas day celebrations included Lucky draw contest, music and other cultural events.

A fund collection program named, ‘Unni Eeshoykk Oru Snehaveedu’ was conducted by the Jesus Youth members. The fund raising was a grand success and it was utilized to celebrate Christmas with an underprivileged family
