Ed Club

The Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Kerala, in association With Education Department formulated a scheme to set up “Entrepreneurship Development Clubs” in schools and colleges of the State to inculcate “Entrepreneurship Culture”, amongst youth and equip them with the skills, techniques and confidence to act as torch-bearers of “Enterprise” for the new generation. The Entrepreneurship Development Club started its functioning in the college from 2013, with the mission “To create wealth and employment commensurate with unlimited natural and immense human resource potential of Kerala by developing entrepreneurship in the youth.”. Since then several activities were undertaken by the Club.


Objectives of the Club

he objectives of Entrepreneurship Development Club are to inculcate entrepreneurship qualities, to sensitize industrial scenario of the state, to nurture the latent entrepreneurial talent, develop awareness among its members of the attitudes, values, and skills of successful entrepreneurs around the globe etc.

  • To inculcate social virtues i.e., trustworthiness, integrity, hard work, discipline, honesty, etc as constituents of entrepreneurship.
  • To sensitize students on the real economic and industrial development scenario of the state.
  • To make them aware of the unlimited development potential of the State and to inculcate entrepreneurial culture in the students.
  • T o enable them to take informed decisions to bring in successful entrepreneur and students on a common platform.
  • To motivate members on various dimensions of industry to nurture the latent entrepreneurial talent. Functions of the Club
  • Organize interactive sessions with successful entrepreneurs from outside as well as within the State.
  • Organize workshops/debates, industrial visits to business enterprises within/outside the State.
  • Interaction with the promotional agencies.
  • Exposure to national and international events in various parts of the country related to industrial developments.
  • Organize Entrepreneurship Clinics and Entrepreneur Awareness Programme.
  • To introduce talented youths to industrial research organizations.
  • To familiarize the youths to the latest developments through media.


Government of Kerala have instituted bold and forward looking measures to tap the unique strength of the state aimed at providing a sustainable stimulus for industrial growth. Mount Carmel College ED CLUB was inaugurated by DR. JEEMON. K. SAM (DR. JKS, VEETTOOR ,Asst. Prof. Dept. of Physiology, MOSC Medical College, Kolenchery) on Oct 10, 2018 at 11:00 am. Prof. Paul K.P, Principal Mount Carmel College, presided the meeting. Rev. Fr. Regi Jacob Pullan, Finance Administrator felicitated the meeting. Student representatives Bigil Jose welcomed the gathering and Betty .A. Sajeev proposed vote of thanks. Teacher-in-charge of the ED Club Robin Tharian guided and supported the students.


Dr. Jeemon .K. Sam, enlightened the students with an orientation class on the qualities required for a good entrepreneur and communication skills necessary. 50 students from various streams attended the class and the session proved to be beneficial and inspiring for each and every one that helped to instill confidence to establish a firm. He motivated the students with his wonderful knowledge and rich life experience. The session came to an end in the presence of Rev. Dr. Robert Thomas Puthussery, Academic Chair & Manager as he handed over a memento to Dr. Jeemon .K. Sam as a token of love and gratitude.
